Jellico Community Hospital announces Angela Jones, RN, as the new Administrative Director of Quality and promotion of Glenda Kilgore, RN, to Director of Surgery.

“We’re proud to recognize Angie and Glenda in their new leadership roles,” said Kim Dowell, RN, hospital CEO. “Angie will oversee our quality efforts and Glenda will coordinate our scope of surgery services, including obstetrics and gynecology, general/vascular, endoscopy and colonoscopy capabilities.”

Angela Jones, RN, assumed her new post as Administrative Director of Quality in June 2016. A practicing nurse at Jellico Community Hospital since 1993, she began her career in labor and delivery. Jones’ nursing experience spans medical/surgical care and intensive care. She has directed staff development and physician liaison activities, and coordinated information technology and electronic health record conversion efforts. Originally from Newcomb, Tenn., Jones attended nursing school at Lincoln Memorial University. She and her husband Donnie have three daughters and one grandchild.

Glenda Kilgore, RN, Director of Surgery, has been a practicing nurse at Jellico Community Hospital for more than 12 years, the past seven years as Clinical Coordinator of Surgery. With extensive experience in both surgery and obstetrics/gynecology, she shared, “One of my favorite things about the surgery department is that the standard of care was set by Dr. Charles Wilkens, and still follows today with his sons, Dr. Gregory Wilkens and Dr. Todd Wilkens. The focus is on the patient and how to positively influence lives, not only through surgical care, but also with kindness, compassion and prayer.“ Kilgore graduated from Eastern Kentucky University’s nursing school in Richmond, Ky. She resides in Jellico and has two grown sons.
